Mindful Eating – What Is It?

Do you ever feel sluggish after a meal because you ate way too much? Can you eat and eat in front of the TV and not realise you’re doing it? Chances are you’re not practicing Mindful eating.

Mindful eating is when you respond to physical hunger, not emotional hunger and are fully present in the moment of eating. So many of us eat on the go or eat while a million other things are running through our heads. This doesn’t allow the body the time and thought it needs to really digest your food properly and communicate to you that it’s full, causing over eating and cravings of junk food.

My advice to you is to slow it down! Really take a step back and be present in the moment. Pay attention to the food, the taste and how full you’re feeling. It will make the world of difference!
